Teacup will be holding its first ever Strava based race (timed event) on Saturday March 23rd, 2019.  If you are not familiar with Strava, it is a social fitness app that can track a fitness activity using GPS data.  The race or timed event is an individual activity where the racer times  and tracks themselves around the designated course with the Strava app.  We are excited to try this out at Teacup and hope that racers will enjoy the friendly competition.  Prizes will consist of bragging rights, recognition on the Facebook website and a Teacup hat for the fastest male and female.

The race is not a mass start format and all trails will be open to skiers throughout the day on March 23rd.  We ask that all participants be aware that there will be non-racers on the course and the trails will be open to all. Racers should use caution when passing others.  This is a friendly race and not worth injuring yourself or others.

This is our first time doing a Strava based race at Teacup so there may be some bugs to work out.  However, below are the specifics on the event and where to sign up.

Other Instructions: Racers can join a Strava club named “Teacup Nordic Test” described as “This is a group for participating in the Teacup Strava Race”  It’s not require but there if one wants to join.

Results:  The name in Strava must be the same as the name the participant registered under in Webscorer, The race administrator should be able to transfer the Strava time to the results in Webscore.
In order to see the segment in Strava, with the times of all those who have done the course, one needs to go to https://www.strava.com/segments/20042513. One can’t search for it in Strava, since the segment searches and “explores” only covers biking and running.
